Home Ground Games makes small, characterful strategy games about the places you're from — and the quiet pride, rivalry and long odds that come with them.
The idea is simple: take somewhere real — a London borough, an Irish county, a country at a World Cup — put you in charge, and see what you'd do with it. Every game runs on decisions, not reflexes. You build, you gamble, you read the room, and eight years (or seven rounds) later you find out whether it worked. Each one is designed to be finished in a single sitting.
They're free to play, run in any modern browser with nothing to install, and remember your progress on your own device. Ads keep the lights on; that's the whole business model.
The games
- Postcode Envy — take charge of one of 32 London boroughs and climb the league, building and blundering your way to civic supremacy.
- Fierce Notions — steer an Irish county to the top over eight years, with grand plans, tight budgets, and neighbours with notions of their own.
- Nation to Glory — pick a nation, favourites or 1000/1 no-hopers, and make the forty calls that decide a World Cup.
Who makes them
Home Ground Games is an independent project — the games, words, art and code are made in-house, without a studio behind them. If something made you laugh, or you spotted a bug, or there's a place you think deserves its own game, we genuinely want to hear it.
